East Kentwood senior wide receiver Stephan Bracey is headed to Western Michigan University.

Bracey verbally committed to WMU Tuesday. Bracey made the announcement on Twitter:

First off I would like to thank God for all the opportunities he created for me. I would like to thank my family for being there for me through the process and my strength coach Martens and head football coach TK for creating many opportunities to get to different college campuses. I also want to thank all the coaches that have been a part of my life and helped create opportunities for me to play at the next level!!! On that note I would like to announce that I have committed to Western Michigan University!!!!

The 5-9, 160-pound Bracey is a go-to receiver on a 6-1 Falcons team that is averaging 50 points a game. Big games include East Kentwood's 55-6 win over Grand Haven on Sept. 28 when he had 106 yards in receptions, including a touchdown.

Bracey, whose sister Sekayi Bracey competes for Purdue's track team, is one of three Falcons who has verbally committed to Division I programs. Linemen Mazi Smith and Logan Brown have committed to Michigan and Wisconsin, respectively.

Bracey also competes on East Kentwood's two-time Division 1 defending state championship team. He finished third in the long jump last year and ran a leg on the Falcons' 4-by-200 relay that placed third overall.
